Because of this genius idea Bubug had, all on her own so credit is wholly hers, to play with Sandor and Sansa’s paradoxical similarity concerning their use of armour and weapons that allowed them both to survive in a world where otherwise they’d have fared much worse. To achieve this, Bubug has here depicted both of them fully “armed” and introduced a humorous contrast in size between her tiny meat knife and his huge longsword.
Humour aside, the reason for loving this version above the others I possess is that Bubug proved that old maxim that an image is worth a thousand words: the painting represents in a nutshell Sandor and Sansa’s shared quality: they’re both survivors.
